The Order of Malta
“Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum,” meaning “Defending the Faith and Serving the Poor and the Sick,” is the guiding mission of the Order of Malta. Each Sunday morning, members of the Order gather at Sister BJ’s Pantry as early as 6 a.m. to prepare and serve a hot breakfast for our homeless friends in Oklahoma City. Their dedication goes beyond providing food; it is an act of compassion and solidarity with those in need. As one member described, “it is a spiritual experience” to serve at Sister BJ’s Pantry, reflecting the Order’s commitment to faith in action and heartfelt service.
